E-mail services

E-mail and webmail services

Email company CornwallAll the websites I design automatically come with e-mail and webmail facilities.

I can set up your email accounts for you so you can edit, add to or delete them whenever you like.

It’s easy and puts you in control.

Free e-mail accounts

Free e-mail accounts (such as Hotmail and Yahoo) are fine for temporary personal accounts but I do not recommend them for businesses.

Why? Well there are several reasons.

  1. They make you look cheap!
They say to your customers and clients that you don’t care enough about your business to invest a little money in your own domain name so why will you care much about them!
  2. They are not regarded as permanent
This will cause people you contact using them to wonder whether you are too! Also, if you don’t use them, they are often removed from the system.
  3. They are not unique
Let’s face it, when millions of other users have the same email address, you’re hardly going to stand out from the crowd!
  4. Customers and clients can’t recognise you
Generic free e-mail accounts can be confusing as they are not immediately recognisable as coming from your business.
  5. You end up with a silly name
Due to the huge number of users these free services have you’ll usually end up compromising on the name for your email address.
  6. Many inboxes have spam filters setup for free e-mail accounts
Many email recipients can and do block email from free email account services.
  7. Nothing’s really for free!
Anything for free has it’s drawbacks whether it is advertising within the e-mail or low amounts of disk space.

Basically, free email accounts give off the wrong image and if you’re in business, why would you want to do that?

The benefits of your own email address

There are many but mainly they’re the opposite of the list above.

  1. You’ll look like you have invested time, effort and money in your business.
  2. It will make you business look like it’s permanent and not fly-by-night.
  3. Your e-mail address can be unique and definitely not generic.
  4. You own e-mail address will help identify your e-mails instantly.
  5. You can choose whatever name goes before the ‘@’ symbol you like and enables you to create other e-mail addresses from within your business.
  6. You e-mail is highly unlikely to be blocked by spam filters which means your e-mails will get through to their intended recipients.
  7. Although not for free, there will be absolutely no advertising in any email you send out from my servers and all accounts come with generous amounts of disk space.
